Raising Houses or Cottages to Install Foundations

CDS Building Movers' most valued service to the homeowner is our ability to raise houses and cottages to allow for new foundations. We have designed equipment and developed techniques to make the seemingly impossible task of raising these buildings feasible and affordable.
Raising the building allows the owner to relocate the building on the lot, to change the building's elevation to accommodate proper drainage and landscaping, and to roll the building aside to permit uninhibited excavation.
The end result is a new high and dry foundation.
This value-added investment increases saleability, eases mortgage financing, and is a major lifestyle improvement for the owners
Oil Tank Spills
We work closely with environmental recovery firms and insurance companies on oil tank spills and other hazardous spill projects.
In the Press...

"I'm certainly glad nothing fell off," says Greg Wilson of Chelsea as he watches his 100-year-old cottage get jacked up four feet in the air and moved back 45 feet. His biggest concern was the wrap around porch.
But Mario Lapalme, a foreman for CDS Building Movers, says that some of the older buildings are "stronger than new houses." This particular cottage was built with real two by fours and two by eights.
Wilson is an Ottawa resident who wants to make his cottage his full-time home but wanted to put in a basement first.
The building was pulled back on July 8, a basement will be put in, and then the cottage will be moved back to its original location. Wilson is hoping to have this done by the contruction holidays in August.
